About me
Leah Harris, M.A. (she/they) is a mad + disabled psychiatric survivor of Ashkenazi (Eastern European) Jewish heritage, who has written and advocated for over two decades for mad liberation, human rights, and anti-carceral mental health supports. Her writing and journalism have appeared in Mad in America, Disability Visibility Project, The Progressive Magazine, Truthout, and the anthologies We’ve Been Too Patient: Voices from Radical Mental Health and the forthcoming Mad Studies Reader. She co-presented about extreme states and menopause at the 2023 ISPS-USA conference, and was a guest on the Depth Work podcast discussing this topic. Leah Has also contributed to the Mad in America podcast and was a guest on Committable and The Death Panel. She is a Hearing Voices Network - USA board member and lives in the Washington, DC metro area.
